wwe roadblock results | wwe roadblock predictions | wwe roadblock card

WWE Roadblock is the latest televised house show special to be offered on WWE Network, but with the proximity to WrestleMania, it has taken on a whole other level of meaning.
.
Especially with the main event, this is set to be a show of significant value. Dean Ambrose battling Triple H for the WWE Title makes Roadblock on a par with any B PPV main event. In fact, many fans felt Ambrose versus Hunter should be the WrestleMania main event. So this Saturday really is going to be a must watch, especially with WWE selling the idea that the Mania main event could change as a result of Roadblock’s outcome.
.
The rest of the card is slim, but the quality is high. Any Brock Lesnar match is always worth watching, and this weekend he’s scheduled to face Bray Wyatt. It is an intriguing match up, one that should deliver solid in-ring action.
.
Elsewhere, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder will defend their NXT tag titles against Enzo and Big Cass. This is a major opportunity for the NXT stars to make an impression on WWE’s wider audience.
There’ll also be The New Day defending the tag titles against The League Of Nations. Far from being the predictable ‘March To WrestleMania’ event originally planned, the change to ‘Roadblock’ really is captivating. Here’s what to expect.

.
.

4. The New Day (C) Vs The League Of Nations – Tag Team Titles

This will be Big E and Kofi Kingston versus Sheamus and King Barrett. Although a little thrown together, the feud is expected to extend to a match at WrestleMania, and with that in mind, fans should expect a title change this weekend.
It just makes sense. New Day are the faces and would be better served by chasing heel champions. They’ve also been champs for a long time, a little freshness really wouldn’t hurt.
.
And The League Of Nations need this. They mean little right now, so if another match is going to happen, they really need a reason why. The tag title win would give them the credibility to justify a Mania spot. Then on the grand stage, in a pop moment, New Day can win the belts back.
A Bull Hammer on Kofi gives the heels a shock win at Roadblock.

3. Scott Dawson And Dash Wilder (C) Vs Enzo And Big Cass – NXT Tag Team Titles

This match is more about giving the four NXT stars some exposure, and in terms of victory it probably makes sense for heels to retain. Enzo and Big Cass are over as it is, and could be heading up to the main roster soon. Dawson and Wilder need the belts more.
.
As a match it should be good, as everyone will be looking to impress. But the result has a DQ finish written all over it, with the heels perhaps intentionally doing a low blow or bringing a weapon into the bout. That then sets up a reason for viewers to follow up with NXT’s television show.
Plus, there’s the matter of Gable and Jordan. They’re scheduled to compete with Dawson and Wilder at NXT Takeover Dallas. Of course, that could change, but it would be surprising if there was a switch at Roadblock.

Winners by disqualification: Enzo and Big Cass

2. Brock Lesnar Vs Bray Wyatt

Brock Lesnar is 100% winning this one, the question is how do WWE book it?
In the past, his appearance on these Network specials had been built around domination. He’d typically do a few minutes of battering his opponent, as witnessed when he faced Kofi Kingston at Beast In The East and Big Show at Live In Madison Square Garden.
.
But with Bray Wyatt, Lesnar is up against a valuable upper mid carder. This bout was originally scheduled for WrestleMania, it isn’t just a throw away match. It is going to require careful creative, and a twist to protect Wyatt is probably on the agenda.

Expect a few minutes of back and forth action, then Brock’s typical domination for a few minutes. What happens next would make sense for Bray’s WrestleMania opponent to shoot an angle. This would cause Bray a distraction, and allow Lesnar to hit an F5 for the win. The story then becomes not Bray’s loss, but his opponent at WrestleMania.

1. Triple H  Vs Dean Ambrose – WWE Title

With all the WrestleMania advertising already paid for and produced, don’t expect the Triple H versus Roman Reigns main event to change.
Dean Ambrose has been put into this mini feud as cover for the currently injured Reigns, and also because WWE needed a hot draw to maintain Network subscriptions in March. He’ll be doing the job.
.
The idea appears to be that WWE see Ambrose as the new Daniel Bryan. In theory, the more they beat him, the more over he gets. In the long run, he will eventually get a pay off in which he does win, probably against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. So this Roadblock job to Triple H does sort of make sense. Plus, it will be one hell of a match.
.
The finish will be Hunter going over clean, sending him into Mania strong and pushing the idea that Ambrose is an underdog against Lesnar. Reigns will then likely come out for a stare down, as Hunter does the old Mania sign point routine.

Winner: Triple H
